SoFoBoMo – Book Proposal

One thought that the Doonster pointed me to regarding SoFoBoMo ( and I keep typing SoPoBoMo where I am thinking Photo, not Foto - I know, blame jet lag) is a thought by Colin at Photostream to develop the final output in a book format, but perhaps more in line with a book proposal format.... Chinese Fashion Show

Okay, who thought of me as a 'fashion' and runway photographer?? Yep, me neither. But what a fun opportunity! This is a fashion show, with the dresses designed by the workers and staff at this industrial site in Pinghu, also modeled by the dress designers and the dress's materials used are from the non-woven industrial... New Chinese Industrial Space – Pinghu

Industrial Park, PingHu 2008 copyright Douglas Stockdale - My assignments in China have taken me to three new industrial buildings within three new industrial parks. The facility in PingHu was probably the largest facility and in the newest & largest industrial park. I did not get into the city of PingHu, except for one large... Continue Reading →

If Jeff Wall flew to Asia

My recent journey to China seemed to start on the right foot. While we were waiting for our plane to load, I looked out the window to an incredible scene that was unfolding at the aircraft across from us. Since I have a brief run of color images, I will add one more, this one from the ancient city of Xitang, near Jiashan. Xitang is classified as a old (1,000 years old) water village that is not being slated for urban development, at least right now. It is a local tourist trap for the... Continue Reading →

SoFoBoMo – 2008

While I was in China, I did see the notice that SoPoBoMo (aka Solo Photo Book Month) was formerly announced and launched. I see a lot of familiar names in the list of willing participants, including Anita Jesse, Guy Yates, Colin Jago, Paul Lester, Rosie Perera, Kjell Andersen, Matt Alofs, Martin Doonan and of course... More changes

One of the nice things about 13 hours of flying, you have more than enough time to reflect. And I have accepted that with my blog, that I am going to share those thoughts.  Kinda of getting comfortable with my own skin sorta thing. From time to time, I create color images from my color... Back in the USA

Just a quick note that I have returned from my recent three weeks in China, where they have a blog block, but never the less, I did take some photographs. More about all of that in the coming days, but it is nice to be home! Best regards, Doug
