Santa Rosa Plateau revisited

Worm Holes

Worm Holes

…Well, I did get up at O-dark early and head out to the Santa Rosa Plateau this morning, and I had to drive through some very dense fog to get there. And I had some fun, this image being one of the more interesting ones. Now I have a small collection of these types of pre-dawn images. This is a quick post, and I have not had a chance to do a what-if version in a toned black & white yet. This seems to be an image that is about color. hmmmm. Gives me a real time travel feeling.

So driving in the dense fog, I really started into the pre-visualization of where do I want to start first. Except at 6am when I arrived, it was sparkling clear. No fog, no mist, just lots of early morning sunlight. Go figure. So when the sun shines, you take sunshiny pictures….but since the sun was shining, I also had a chance to look around a little better and then drove past an elaborate roadside memorial. Wow. But there is no shoulder on the road at all and lots of postings; no parking or stopping. So some quick “snaps” and some figuring on where I will need to park and hike either up the hill or down the hill on the next trip. I don’t relish this spot, as there is no real safe place to walk to get there and eveyone is tearing along this road, posted at 50mph, but no one is close to that speed. I will have to be very carefull next week when I take on this new subject.

I can never tell where one door will close and another door will open. I just have to keep my options open.

Best regards, Doug
