Grandfather’s Clock

Grandfathers Clock

While reviewing some of the images that I had made on my Napa trip last month, I remembered this image that I had made when dining at Bouchon’s in Yountville. As I sat in this corner booth, I looked up to see a clock that was almost identical to my Grandfather’s basement clock. After my Grandfather passed away, the clock went to my father (out in the garage), my sister (two coats of paint and new clock mechanism) and now hangs proudly in my garage.

So I just could not help and photograph it.  I made the exposure hand held with the ISO moved up to 800, but still not absolutely perfect. But it was intended to be just a “snap shot” of the clock. Or was it? Now looking at this image, there is a lot of other things going on in this image, an interesting little scene as a slice of life.

Best regards, Doug
