2024 Holiday artwork framed for a collector

I recently framed my 2024 Holiday card artwork for my favorite family collector, which is starting to become one of my favorite holiday traditions.

The base photographic image was created during a ski trip to Mammoth Mountain, located in the Sierra’s of Central California, at the end of 2004. I subsequently embroidered some French knots (decorative balls) using three variations of blue thread, which I think looks very cool. Only issue might be that I had printed the photographic print 2x the final size for the card, thus the French knots became more diminutive when rephotographed and reduced for the card, thus I think lost a little bit of the visual impact.

I am already giving some thought as to the subject and treatment for the 2025 holiday card (hint: it might be something related to palm trees).
