Second Vaccine shot – Done!

Yes, I just received my second COVID vaccine shot yesterday afternoon. Cool! Just a little bit sore spot on my arm, but otherwise, no issues. Being a science-geek and involved with pharmaceutical development, I believe in the science of vaccines. I have never thought of the earth being flat. I understand that the full immunization effect will not occur for another two weeks, nevertheless, I will continue to wear a mask and social distance until this pandemic is under control, which here in the US may not be until the summer, perhaps the fall.

The science community is slowly obtaining an idea of how this virus attacks the human body and unlike other viruses, it spreads through out the human body in the cardiovascular system. So still a little bit of a mystery. My concept of how to visualize what all is occurring with the virus, a body’s natural defense mechanism within our cardiovascular system and the interaction with the vaccine is the artwork above.

The artwork is part of my larger COVID initiated series Quantum Elements and a sub-group of images that explores the particle physics aspects of Fresnel Coefficients. A geeky-way of saying that there is underlying scientific reason for why sunlight sparkles on top of the water. What is amazing to me is that the underlying science for why this would occur (wave theory of light) was initially postulated around the 1820’s, well before the American Civil War.

Cheers!

Doug
