I am very excited to announce that I will be leading a Creative Photo Book workshop with the Southeast Center of Photography (SEC4P) later in the Fall of this year. Cool!
This will be a virtual event on Zoom; November 6 & 7th and 13 & 14th, 2021, 10 AM – 1 PM, EDT (which will be a bit early for me on the West Coast, but with enough coffee, this should be fine and we should all survive!)
Who Should Attend:
This workshop is an opportunity for artists in all media (not just photography) currently working on, or planning to start a project that will result in a book publication. Whether you plan to pitch book submissions to a publisher or self-publish your artist book, this workshop is meant to help you create a book that meets your artistic vision. A small body of photographs to work with: 15 – 20 small digital images from their project is required to help the participants to work towards their publishing goal.
As in past book development workshops the focus is on creating a physical book-dummy, one that you can hold in your hand that will enable you to pre-visualize your published book. On the last day of the workshop, I will discuss how to use readily available software for an e-version of your book-dummy that can help you with making publishers submissions.
This is my first workshop with SEC4P, but hopefully not my last ;- D
Registration is now open, and there is a SEC4P membership discount.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Cheers,
Doug
Update, as of Aug 27th, this workshop is SOLD OUT and a wait-list has been started.
