Complications – Entanglement series

I am taking a slight pause for a mid-year reassessment of where I am and where I am going. Not about making drastic new directions but just determining if a slight tweak in my plans going forward are warranted.

I was doing a quick vin diagram of my projects, and realized that the on-going work I have been doing in conjunction with the decommissioned WWII/Korean War practice bombing range that I live on is becoming an interesting cross-over series (working titles: Gardening for Ordnance and Entanglement). It has elements of mental health (you have to be crazy to live on a military bombing range in which all of the old military explosives have not been removed), environmental (the buried military explosives are not earth-friendly), political (past government/military policies still haunt us today) and urban landscape (elements of both urban and nature). So it makes sense for me to continue to work on this project. Cool.

I am also reconsidering how much to try to explain the resulting images, such as this one featured above. Suffice to say, it works for me on various different levels. I suspect that this is an aspect of my posts that I will be spending less time on in the future. Let the work speak for itself…
