This four-day Zoom workshop with Colorado Photographic Arts Center is an opportunity for artists and photographers who are currently working on or planning to start a project that will result in a book publication. Whether you plan to make book submissions to a publisher or self-publish your artist book, this workshop is meant to help you create a book that meets your artistic vision.
Dates: Saturdays & Sundays, May 14 & 15 – 21 & 22nd, 2022
Time: 1PM-4PM (Mountain Time)
The goal of this workshop is to create a physical book-dummy, the real first step to publishing an artist/photographic book. We will discuss each photographer’s vision, mission, and objectives for the publication of a photographic project, and then gain an understanding of how these conceptual aspects translate into a physical book object.
The purpose of this workshop is to provide photographers with the building blocks to move from a complex unorganized mass of images into a refined edit and subsequently sequence to create a pre-visualization of a book concept.
We will meet to discuss, review and work on the principals of publishing a photographic book. As personal projects that can evolve into a photobook help sustain and define ourselves as photographers, so too does this workshop help move towards that goal. Past participants have stated that this is like a 4rd grade book making class on steroids. It’s a wonderful combination of intense creativity in a fun, low stress & supporting setting.
Best regards & let me know if you have any questions.
