Entanglement – The Hand magazine issue #42 Fall 2023

Earlier when I had announced that I was included in issue #42 of The Hand magazine, I had no idea how many or which of my Entanglement cyanotypes had been included. Tricky devils, they want those who are included in the issue to promote the magazine (cover) and not their images until everyone finally received their printed copy. And I just received my copy of the magazine and so I can reveal that two of my cyanotypes were featured. Cool!

Okay, maybe I did know of one (Disinformation) as I was fortunate to be featured in one of their pre-press social media shout-outs (see their IG post, below). That was a really nice teaser.

It is always nice to see my work in print.

And of course, I am already considering my cyanotype submission for Winter 2023 with the deadline at the end of November. For the moment, I am keeping that subject a secret. I can be a tricky devil at times as well. LoL

Entanglement is my Critical Mass 2023 Finalist project and with the recent curatorial feedback, I am revising my artist statement as well as my cyanotype portfolio, as I posted a couple of days ago. Always evolving, eh?

Both are classic cyanotypes, image is 9 x 9″ on a sheet of 11 x 14″ archival Revere Platinum hot-press watercolor cotton rag, editions of 5 plus 1A/P. I photographed this decommissioned WWII practice bombing range with expired 120 film, then created a digital negative to contract print with my LED UV printer.

Make every day an Earth Day
