Venturing forth into 2013

As I look ahead to 2013, I find that the photograph that I made earlier in JiaShan China with the lone man in a small boat to be wonderfully symbolic of the feelings that I am having. I am leaving the old (year, ways, thoughts, past, memories) on an unknown journey under a threatening gray sky, attempting to shield myself, while yet mustering on.  Will I venture onto the new and challenging (contemporary) far side or perhaps steer back to more familiar and safer terrain?

This much I know, I will continue to explore what memory and its preservation means to me as a source of inspiration and a challenging goal for 2013.
