Last week I was interviewed by scott b. davis, the Executive Director of Medium Photo, about my pending book development workshop that I will be leading this March in San Diego. (See link below for more information on the workshop and to register.)
The purpose of this interview was two-fold; promote this book development workshop (which was sold out last year, just saying…) and second, a teaser of what someone might we cover in this four day workshop. A fun and interesting discussion with scott, as one never knows how an interview might develop.
Such as our discussions about:
How does putting your artwork into book form enhance our understanding of the of work itself?
You’ve taught book making workshops many times before, tell us about an “ah-ha” moment workshop participants can look forward to.
What are some of the more exciting trends in artist books that we can look forward to in the workshop?
Is there a specific point in time that is appropriate for an artist to begin working on a book?
Tell us about something specific an artist should look for as a seed for beginning down the book path.
As an attendee in the last book making workshop it is clear this experience holds tremendous value for artists.
If you are thinking about attending this workshop, another aspect of to consider is that I will be providing each participant with one of my last copies of the sold-out Guide to Self-publishing an Indie Artist Book, which I recently announced here.
You can read the full interview between scott and I here.
I hope you can join me, as my workshops tend to be a wonderful combination of creative intensity, fun and playful interaction within the group that has really benefited all who attend. Perhaps reflected by the subsequent books that have been published by those who attended.
If you have any questions about the workshop, please contact me!
Cheers!
