Dreaming (during a pandemic)

Dreaming

With the rough edit completed for my China project I am starting to attempt to resume a normal life…during a pandemic. sigh. Thus my fourth self-affirmation diptych mini-poster (third was published here) about a subject that seems to come up often for me, dreaming about what I might be doing when everything gets back to normal. Or as many have been discussing, the new normal. I highly suspect that until we develop and fully implement a COVID-19 vaccine, there will be a modified normal for a while, perhaps well into 2021.

This photograph is from one of my batches of expired 120 film, which is probably the cause of the little bit of unusual sky and slight color shift. This color shift is probably accentuated a bit more as this was a very early sunrise photograph. The unusual colors help to create a surreal photograph that for me has dreamlike qualities.

If I recall correctly, I used a 50mm Distagon CF (equivalent to about 28mm on a full-frame DSLR) I rented for a weekend to experiment with on the Hasselblad. That lens still remains on my wish-list.

Cheers, stay healthy and safe my friends,

Doug
