The Hand magazine – my pigment transfer images in issue #54

The Hand (magazine), Issue 54, Fall 2026 –

Honored to have at least one or more of my recent pigment ink transfer prints featured in The Hand, issue 54. Their marketing and promotional practice is to first announce the artists who will be featured (but not their artwork), then later you obtain your copy of the magazine to reveal what print(s) were chosen. Thus everyone does their self-promo featuring the magazine, twice with the second time to announce which image(s) are featured. Nice.

Submissions have a maximum of five images, while for this issue I had my portfolio of images plus one I thought might make a nice cover image, so it was my sixth image I submitted. The two guys who run this magazine have a tendency to select a vertical portrait, thus my pigment ink transfer of The Raven, below, I thought might get some extra attention as a potential cover image. Apparently not. LoL

The other images submitted are from my Artichoke Thistle portfolio, which are also my initial attempts to learn the pigment ink transfer process with inkAID film and transfer solutions, below. FYI, all of these black and white pigment transfer prints are on Bristol board, various sizes, each unique.

So later in October when I receive my copy, I will write another article about issue #54 and which print(s) were featured and where in the magazine. Right now I have a chance to promo all of my submissions! LoL
