Happy Artist! As my publication self-funding campaign has come to a close yesterday, I happy to announce that the Artist Special Edition, artist book + extra print, for The Flow of Light Brushes the Shadow has Sold Out (with a tiny little bit of a caveat).
I am in the midst of discussing with 14 different organizations, a couple of museums and a slew of Special Collection libraries, about this Artist Special Edition. After being advised by another book artist regarding the amount of time that these organizations take to make acquisition decisions, that reserving the last two editions for institutional purchase is prudent. I think it is smart to listen to their advice, as the whole area of Museum and Special Collections is relatively new to me. Nevertheless, I really like the potential for accessing these permanent artist book collections, so two of these have been reserved.
Thus, if there is still one of the Artist Special Editions that is not purchased over the following couple of months, I will make whatever is available for sale to the public. If you are interested, then please let me know and I can put you on the waiting list. Meanwhile, the regular edition of this artist book is still very much available! The list price is: $60.00 USD (plus CA sales tax and shipping)
Meanwhile I am into the next phase of publication; contacting book stores (some book store sales starting to come in), contacting the book reviewers to find out their interest (a couple already lined up, but I could use more) and preparing the final book components for production later this month. Still on goal to have final copies printed and pamphlet stitched to ship by the end of this month (okay, let’s be fair and say the beginning of August). Cool!
So today was a day for a happy dance and I am planing a little celebratory wine tonight with dinner. Life is good.
