I am very honored today that the Frick Fine Arts Library at the University of Pittsburgh is acquiring one of the Special Artist Editions of my artist book The Flow of Light Brushes the Shadow. This will join my other artists books that are already in their collection. Super exciting.
I also realized that this might be the first time I shared what this limited edition print and book will look like. Which is pretty amazing since this small edition of 20 books is now almost sold out, which is pretty cool as these were meant to help finance the publication of my book that is about mental heath awareness.
As to the limited edition print, this is a self-portrait was made in Vernouillet (France) after a long and almost sleepless night confronting a new day. The photograph of me opening the blinds to let in the morning light has come to represent hope, at a time when I was still not aware of the underlying issues that had been haunting me.
So, just a couple of these Artist Special editions are left at the $100.00 USD price (plus CA taxes) and would be selling for $125.00 if any were left, which at this pace, none will probably be available. So if you have been on the fence about obtaining one from this small edition, you might want to consider acting pretty fast and email (douglas@douglasstockdale.com) me your desire so that we can get the PayPal invoice processed.
Which has me thinking that perhaps for my next book, maybe the special edition should be a bit larger.
Cheers & make every day an Earth Day
Doug
